On the road from Tickhill to Bawtry a strange red crop appeared in a number of fields - such a bright red colour, it was really eye catching and deserved to be painted. On a grey day with heavy skies I stood and captured the colour, it was a joy to paint. Apparantly it was a cover crop that had been sprayed to burn it off before a new crop is planted and this process created the colour!
