Ian Davenport Art

My MISSION is to connect people with their special place, to our beautiful landscape, to adventures had and memories made

Painting Plein air as much as possible I try and bring an immediacy and freshness to my work with gestural mark making and a bold use of colour. Living in Yorkshire I am inspired by the local landscape, capturing the open spaces and big skies of Northern England.

Latest News…..April 2026

Hi,

We are Springing forward, the weeks are flashing past and the days are getting longer……at last!

I feel as though I have made a step change in my art practice, the new palette knife work landed really well at the Fusion Art Fair in Harrogate with great feedback and lots of sales.

I have just finished an 8 day residency at Clumber Park, our local National Trust Estate and again a really positive experience.

This has boosted my confidence and set me up for a summer of painting.

I’m looking forward to riding my bike, walking in the hills, sketching & painting. I can’t think of a better way to live. I am happy.
