Mablethorpe Spring
It was the spring equinox, the forecast was for warm sunshine so I packed up my gear and set off to Mablethorpe beach. What a beautiful day! I set up on the northern end of the prom to paint the expanisive view looking north along the amazing beach. There was a haze in the distance that blurred the line between sky and sea which created a very tranquil atmosphere.
I painted all day with lots of lovely conversations and passers by stopping to check on my painting. The warm comments from strangers make plein air painting such a joy.
The finished painting describes the amazing colours in the prestine beach with the retreating tide leaving pools of water illuminated by the sun.
After the compulsory chips & mushy peas sat on the prom listening to the sounds of the sea & gulls it was time for home after a great day.
