Derwent Edge
£125.00
The reservoirs of Ladybower and Derwent in the heart of the Dark Peak are surrounded by imposing mountains, the landscape carved and shaped by the ice age. The edges of the Peak District are a reminder of this time and create a dramatic landscape for walkers and climbers.
On a wet and windy day in March 2024 I was up on Derwent Edge sketching the view and collecting reference photos. Back in the studio I painted this picture of the Edge and the reservoirs, an impression of the rugged rock formations and the softer rolling hills.
Presented in a natural finish wooden float frame.
