Clifton Thaw
As the winter sun began to melt the lying snow I went out to paint. The low sun created great contrast, the bright white snow against the deep blues of the long shadows. I allowed the texture of the oil paint to help describe the landscape. I really enjoyed this painting looking towards Clifton Hill from Mickelbring in South Yorkshire.
Finished in a hand made ‘St Ives’ white wooden frame.
