Autumn Beginnings in Clumber Park
The double avenue of Lime trees in Clumber Park is the longest in the country, a beautiful place to paint in autumn as the colours begin to show. It is a spectacular landscape to move through, the trees just go on and on.
I have painted the left hand avenue, I love the track that runs through the center and leads you up and over the brow of a small hill in the distance.
Applying the paint thickly with deliberate marks gives the feeling of fallen leaves to kick your way through on a crisp autumn day.
The picture is ready to hang in a white wooden frame using ‘St Ives’ moulding that really sets it off.
